EasyThai finds most Thai words on the basis of heard language,
as each search is based on two simple rules:

1. Place an "*" (asterisk) in front of the sought-after word (e.g. *bai)
2. Use just one single letter for long and short vowels (e.g. *ban)

Instead of "maa", "mah", "ma:" or "ma_" for a long vowel, you simply write *ma, and are immediately presented with the words "to come", "horse" and "dog".

In addition, all the word combinations will be included in the "Search result", e.g. "to fetch" (pai au ma), "wolf" (ma ba) and "zebra" (ma lai).

EasyThai

Computerized speech output (double click) is merely an aid in this process, and is no replacement for hearing the words spoken by a native speaker.

The big advantage of electronic speech output, however, is that you can immediately hear any Thai words you have entered and saved yourself without having to digitalize large sound files.

"My Thai" User Dictionary

In EasyThai you can create and manage your own user dictionary.
Click on the "My Thai" tab to access the user dictionary.

The entries in the user dictionary will be fully integrated into the world list, search, etc.

User dictionary words can also be read aloud if they include a Thai translation.

To distinguish between user dictionary and standard dictionary entries, user dictionary entries are shown in blue.
